Naomi Andrews Is Exactly Who New Hampshire Needs In Congress
To the Editor:
Naomi Andrews is the best choice to represent New Hampshire’s first district in Congress. She has the experience, the energy, and the courage that we need so much more of in Washington, especially in 2018.
I’ve had the good fortune to call Naomi a friend for 18 years. She was already a passionate activist for an array of progressive issues when we were college classmates, and that fire has only grown brighter. I have always admired her steady, unflinching pursuit of what is right and what is fair. Some people are born leaders not because they aspire to power or influence, but because they doggedly pursue their convictions, inspiring others to join them along the way. That’s Naomi.
I grew up in Madison and Sandwich, but live in Washington, DC now. I’ve watched Naomi’s tireless work alongside Carol Shea-Porter, fighting for the people and the values of New Hampshire for over a decade. Naomi comes from the middle class and is the first in her family to go to college. At a time of growing inequality in America, she knows we need to fight for educational and economic opportunities for everyone. From affordable healthcare, to caring for our Veterans and retirees, to protecting a woman’s right to choose, to preserving our precious natural world against the threat of climate change, Naomi’s positions just make sense and I encourage you to learn more at www.naomiandrews.com.
Naomi is deeply concerned about the current state of our democracy, as am I. Working in foreign policy, I fear that the damage done to our global standing, the fraying of alliances, and the degradation of our moral leadership will take decades to repair. Naomi has the courage and the experience to be a Congressional leader fighting back against this barrage of assaults from day one.
In a dark time for America, I am so grateful that my good friend is stepping up when we need her most. I urge my fellow New Hampshirites in District 1 to vote for Naomi Andrews, who represents the best of us, on September 11th.
