Press Release: Andrews Campaign Statement on Candidate Maura Sullivan Not Voting in Presidential Primary
Epping, NH— Today, the Campaign of Naomi Andrews, Candidate for Congress in New Hampshire’s First Congressional District, released the following statement after it became public that Candidate Maura Sullivan didn’t vote in the 2016 Presidential Primary, even though she says she supported the first woman candidate ever to make it to the general election.
“Maura Sullivan, whose self-serving desire to hold political office sent her district shopping from Chicago to NH in 2017 to primary Congresswoman, Carol Shea-Porter, could not even be bothered to take the very first step of our democratic process—voting. This is a shameful insult to the women who worked so hard to get us all the right to vote, and shows a high level of indifference and disinterest in government. It’s particularly ironic, given that Sullivan said at a forum that, “And I’ll tell ya I think that women around the country are really, really tired right now of being told to wait their turn.” She just couldn’t be bothered.
People who are looking for a strong woman with actual relevant federal experience should vote for Congresswoman Shea-Porter’s endorsed candidate, Naomi Andrews, who served the good people of New Hampshire as Shea-Porter's Chief of Staff and has always voted,” said spokeswoman Jamie Radice.
